Bridgette K. Werner, Ph.D.
I am passionate about clear, engaging, persuasive writing. Whether you are working on a book manuscript, book proposal, journal article, or grant application, I will help you pull it together around your big idea: the throughline.
Throughline Editing is all about helping you communicate your ideas to the readers you want to reach. I’ll help you clarify your argument and provide clear feedback and steps for revisions. Publication is a laborious process. Wherever you are on that road, I’m here to support you.
I specialize in humanities and qualitative social sciences editing. I earned my PhD in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018 and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Princeton University in 2021. I have published my research in the Hispanic American Historical Review, taught undergraduates at UW-Madison and Princeton, and am currently completing my first book project, a historical monograph about Bolivia’s 1952 revolution. My work has been funded by a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad grant, the U.S. Department of Education, various entities at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Princeton University.
I completed a certificate in Professional Editing Standards at Queen’s University in April 2022 and the UC Berkeley Extension’s professional indexing course in 2021. I am a member of Editors Canada and the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA).
